Laboratory for tissue engineering
- Laboratory for tissue engineering (LTI) is interested in preparation of advanced materials for medical application which could be used for tissue substitution, regeneration of cartilaginous tissue and healing of wounds, not only for people.
- Main goal of our department is to develop the most effective method for preparation of these special materials, which have to carry out a lot of important conditions as toxicity, dimensions, compatibility with live organisms and biodegradability.
- Laboratory for tissue engineering deal with complete development which involves except the preparation of materials with the newest technologies characterization of their physical, chemical and biochemical properties as conductivity, surface tension, viscosity, solidity, elasticity, biodegradability and biocompatibility. Nowadays the development is focused on preparation of non-woven materials.
- The essential substance of all products is sodium hyaluronate, polysaccharide, which does not induce immune responce and accelerates the healing process (example could be Hyodine – produced by our firm).

Our microscope - Tescan VEGA II LSU is equipped with secondary and backscattered electron detectors and with Peltier stage. It is possible to observe samples under variable temperature and pressure. We have experience in working with many kinds of samples, including organic fibers, scaffolds, metals and pigments.
