Fermentation group
- Fermentation group (FES) is a multidisciplinary, dynamically evolving part of R&D department, which represents a connecting link between the basic research and the commercial production of a number of biological active substances. Primary goal of this group is the implementation of new production processes, optimalization of existing production processes and the transformation of pilot-scale production to bulk manufacturing processes.
We also study the structure, morphology, and biochemical properties of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganism at the cellular and molecular level. We apply the basic as well as advanced methods of an industrial microbiology. - The group has a high quality technical and personal background, which is under continuous improvement.The biotechnological hall is equipped with modern bioreactors (0.5 – 300l) and with the equipment necessary for the manipulation with microorganisms and basic analyses. Close cooperation with other departments facilitates the proper sample analysis and the data evaluation using state-of-the-art methods according to the Good Laboratory Practice.
