• The name Contipro appeared on the Czech market in 1990, when the company was founded by Vladimír Velebný and Petr Pinkas, who are now the co-owners of the whole holding. The holding, Contipro Group, covers three companies employing a total of 117 employees. The company is based in Dolní Dobrouč, in the picturesque foothills of the Orlické Hory mountains.
  
• The oldest company in the holding, Contipro C, is geared towards the manufacture of final products and substances for the pharmaceutical industry. Another company, CPN, was set up in 1997. Its activities focus on the production of active substances for application in cosmetics and nutrition. It also conducts research and development in its own laboratories. Both companies are overarched by the parent, Contipro Group, which is a service company established in 2004 to provide technological assistance, administration and commercial operations.
  
• The narrow specialization of the individual companies means the holding is a flexible body that can operate to high professional standards while concentrating on further growth. Thanks to this strategy, Contipro Group has been able to assume a leading position in the production of hyaluronan of all levels of purity, including the top quality designed for sterile injection preparations.
  Having managed to build up its own distribution network for all its products (active substances and pharmaceutical products), the company is able to export 99% of total output to 40 countries in all the continents. At present, it controls 60% of the European and 30% of the world market in hyaluronan.
  
• Today, the holding covers a wide range of products used in pharmacy and cosmetics. The group is also involved in the young, rapidly developing field of nanobiopharmacy. It focuses on tissue engineering, wound healing, gene therapy and targeted drug distribution. In the field of cosmetics, Contipro Group develops and produces highly active substances for the manufacture of skin-care products, e.g. anti-ageing skin and wrinkle creams.
